SMALL ENSEMBLE AND SOLO RATES

Eight or fewer musicians in ensemble (without isolation), or five musicians or fewer playing with isolation.  Okatven quotes the studio/room and the engineer/assistant as a combined rate.

RECORDING / TRACKING

With Ryan Streber (Engineer)
- Full Day (10-hour lockout): $1,750
- Half Day (5-hour): $975

With Charles Mueller, Owen Mulholland, or Deanna Fielding (Engineer)
- Full Day (10-hour lockout): $1,550
- Half Day (5-hour): $900

With Outside Engineer
- Full Day (10-hour lockout with Oktaven assistant): $1,550
- Available for 10-hour sessions only

Recording / Tracking Session Details
- Small Ensemble size: 8 or fewer musicians (without iso) or 5 or fewer musicians (with iso)
- Full Day Hours: 10:30 AM - 8:30 PM (typically)
- Half Day Options: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM
- Includes live room, control room, bass booth, and drum iso
- Times include load-in and load-out, e.g., 10:30 is arrival, 8:30 is departure

PIANOS 

- Two Steinway D Concert Grand Pianos available (Hamburg and New York)
- Tuning Fee: $230 (per piano)
- Standby Rate: $125/hour
- Pianos are tuned to 441 Hz
- Preparation considered case-by-case only on the New York (requires score review in advance)

PRODUCTION SERVICES

All projects require a producer, whether the client, an Oktaven producer, or an outside producer. Oktaven offers:

Recording Session Production
- Starting at $500 (full day) or $250 (half day)
- Additional to tracking/recording fees
- Includes note-taking and takesheet preparation
- Client must provide edit maps for first edit

Full Recording Production
- Custom quote based on project scope
- Includes score study, session planning, edit mapping, and complete first edit
- Requires session production service

Post-Production - Editing / Mixing
- Unattended: $100/hour (15-minute increments)
- Attended with Ryan Streber (A Room): $200/hour (3-hour minimum)
- Attended with Mueller / Mulholland / Fielding (B Room): $175/hour (3-hour minimum)

Post-Production - Mastering
- Oktaven-mixed projects: $1,500 (single-disc LP length), inc. DDP
- Projects mixed elsewhere: Custom quote after review of mixes
- Shorter projects (Singles, EPs, etc.) quoted per project
- Vinyl or tape: quoted per project

VIDEO SERVICES - Multi-cam Static Capture

- Full Day (10-hour): $1,000
- Half Day (5-hour): $750
- Video Editing: $100/hour unattended, 15-minute increments

All video projects require a client-dedicated 5TB HDD, which will be purchased by Oktaven and billed to the client.

TERMS / POLICIES

1. Booking
- 50% deposit against written estimate required to reserve time
- Sales tax (8.375% - NYS Mount Vernon) applies unless exempt
- Booked time is billed in full regardless of early completion
- All recording sessions must have a producer

2. Scheduling & Cancellation
- Changes within 7 days will incur forfeiture of deposit
- Same-day cancellation will be charged in full amount of estimate
- Overtime is available by pre-arrangement (or at discretion of studio/engineer) at 1.5x standard rates

3. Payment Terms
- Full payment due on service date for recording/tracking
- Prices subject to change, but are guaranteed for 365 days from date of 50% deposit on estimate
- Client is solely responsible for data archival and storage at close of a project

4. Client Equipment

Storage
- Oktaven will purchase the below on clients’ behalf.  Drives as described below are dedicated solely to the client for whom they are purchased:
- One 1TB SSD required per client for audio recording; two 1TB SSDs for recording and production services 
- One 4TB HD (or larger) required for video projects
- Drives will be shipped to client after project completion

Monitoring
- Clients should use professional-quality monitoring to review audio - these closed-ear and these open-ear headphones are good options.
